Every marketer- whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned pro- needs their own Magical Marketing Resource file. This file has all the answers you’ll need. Well maybe not all. We’re still waiting on that magic “viral content” formula, but it’s the next best thing: a carefully curated, go-to resource hub that saves you time, energy and a whole lot of stress.

What is the Magical Marketing Resource File
It all started on the 3rd day of my internship. They handed me a small document on Paid Facebook Ads. I put it in a pink folder and put it away. But as time went on, I was given more and more Marketing resources until I felt like I was going to drown in them. I read them but some of them could be reused. And that’s where the Magical Marketing Resource File comes into place. It’s a central stop for all your Marketing resources allowing you to find what you need instantly, provide inspiration and even ideas for scaling.
So what goes into this file?
The Creative Dream Team List
Not every Marketer is great at what they do. (I know. I was disappointed when I found this out). But by keeping a list of those whose work you loved, it helps when you need a last-minute photographer or someone with a candy floss machine (yes that happened). Having a list of trusted creatives and professionals is a lifesaver.
What to include:
- Photographers & videographers for events and brand shoots
- Graphic designers for social media, ads & presentations
- Motion designers for video content & animations
Pro Tip: Always save portfolio links and contact details so you don’t have to chase them down later.
Swipe File for Copy & Campaign Inspiration
We’ve all been there- staring at a blank page, waiting for inspiration to strike. Instead of suffering, build a swipe file: a collection of top-tier copywriting examples and marketing campaigns you can reference, tweak, and repurpose.
What to include:
- Killer email subject lines & CTAs
- High-performing ad copy from different industries
- Engaging social media captions
- Case studies of successful marketing campaigns
Pro Tip: Bookmark great landing pages, subscribe to good email newsletters and screenshot clever ads when you see them. Inspiration is everywhere!
Event Venues & Teams List
Planning an event? Nothing derails the process faster than scrambling for a venue or a reliable catering team at the last minute. Keep a file of trusted event resources so you’re always prepared.
What to include:
- Venues with capacity, location, and pricing details
- Event planners & coordinators
- Catering companies & their specialties
- AV & lighting rental teams
Influencer & PR Contacts
Need to get the word out about your brand? A solid list of influencers, journalists and PR contacts can speed up your outreach process significantly.
What to include:
- Industry influencers & content creators
- Journalists covering your niche
- PR agencies & media contacts
- Past collaborations & results
How to Build Your Marketing Resource File
Feeling overwhelmed? Start small.
- Create a Google Drive folder or Notion database
- Add categories (Photographers, Swipe Files, Tools, etc.)
- Regularly update it with new finds & tested resources
This file will evolve over time, but the key is to start building it now. Future-you will thank you.
Marketing is a mix of strategy, creativity, and resourcefulness—and having a go-to file of resources means you’re always one step ahead.
